Sulzer Chemtech established the new Process Technology business unit by combining its proven process solutions for distillation, membrane separation and crystallization with the activities of the recently acquired company Kühni Ltd, Allschwil, Switzerland. The existing location of Kühni in Allschwil is the new center of excellence for Process Technology within Sulzer Chemtech.
 
 
   
As an expert in thermal, diffusional and membrane separation technology for the separation and purification of aqueous and organic mixtures, Process Technology provides process engineering services and designs, manufactures and supplies process equipment, as well as turn-key modular plants to the process industry, with a focus on the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry.
This combination of technologies, know-how and expertise creates substantial synergies and will strengthen our process technology activities in Asia and the Americas.
The main fields of activities comprise
• Complete separation process plants, in particular modular plants (skids)
• Specialized process equipment
• Testing including process development, feasibility and scale-up in a well   equipped, state of the art test center
• Engineering services such as conceptual process design, feasibilities   studies, plant optimizations including process validation in the test center

Key equipment and skid mounted units are produced in a modern workshop in accordance with the major European, as well as the ASME VIII, design and fabrication codes. Process engineering is carried out in house, using state-of-the-art computer simulation tools. If required, processes can be piloted in our fully equipped test centre. Our engineering activities also include automation of process systems.
Sulzer Chemtech operates a Quality Assurance System that is certified in accordance with ISO 9001/2000.
